Detroit Tigers Sign Pitcher

The Detroit Tigers have signed Brenan Hanifee to a minor league deal.

Hanifee split this past season between ROK, Single A+, and Double-A, where he had a 2-2 record to go along with a 3.92 ERA in 13 appearances. When noting that this was his first season since 2019, it was not a bad year at all for the 6-foot-5 righty. Now, he will be aiming to take that next step with the Tigers organization from here.

Following his signing, the 24-year-old was assigned to Triple-A Toledo, and he will be aiming to stay there for the start of the season. If he does well, perhaps it could open the door to him getting a call-up to the Tigers at some point during the year.
