Colorado Rockies & Pittsburgh Pirates Complete Trade
The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired Connor Joe from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for Nick Garcia.
Joe appeared in a career-high 111 games this past season with the Rockies, where he had seven home runs, 28 RBIs, and a .238 batting average. Overall, he took a step back in production at the plate in 2022, as he had eight home runs, 35 RBIs, and a .285 batting average in 63 games with the Rockies the year before. Now, he will be hoping to find his previous form as a Pirate from here.
Garcia, on the other hand, is a prospect who just spent this past season with Single-A+ Greensboro. In 25 games, he had a 4-4 record to go along with a 3.66 ERA. The 6-foot-4 righty will need a few years at least to become a major league player, but it is never bad for a team to add to their prospect pool.
