Chicago Cubs Bring Back Pitcher
The Chicago Cubs have re-signed Brailyn Marquez to a minor league deal.
The Cubs non-tendered Marquez last month to free up a spot on their 40-man roster. This was an understandable move at the time, as the lefty had not pitched since his lone appearance in 2020 with the Cubs due to illnesses and shoulder surgery. Yet, now the Cubs are bringing him back on a minor league pact.
Marquez is still recovering from his shoulder injury, so there's no determined timetable for when he will be back on the mound. However, he is once again a part of the Cubs' system and will be aiming to make the jump to the majors again once he is fully healthy.
