Boston Red Sox Sign Utility Player
The Boston Red Sox have signed Niko Goodrum to a minor league contract.
Goodrum spent last season with the Houston Astros. In 15 games with the reigning World Series champs, he had zero home runs, one RBI, and a .116 batting average. Overall, it is fair to say that he struggled when called upon, but now he will be aiming to make a bigger impact with the Red Sox from here.
Goodrum has made appearances at the major league level in each of the last six seasons, and now he will be hoping to change that to seven with Boston. If he makes the club, he could serve as a decent backup, as he can play several positions.
