Washington Nationals Place 2 Players On Waivers
The Washington Nationals have outrighted Tres Barrera and Francisco Perez. Due to their removal from the 40-man roster, they each have been placed on the waiver wire and can be claimed by another team.
Barrera could be an interesting option for teams in need of some catching depth. He has played in 51 games for the Nationals since 2019, where he has two home runs, 14 RBIs, and a .231 batting average. Overall, he may not be a star, but he does have the potential to be a decent backup option for when injuries arise.
Perez, on the other hand, appeared in 10 games with the Nationals this season, where he had a 0-0 record and 7.27 ERA. It is fair to say he struggled in the majors when called upon, but he still could get some interest due to this young age (25) and potential upside.
