Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Says He "Would Never Sign" With One Rival Team

If Toronto Blue Jays slugger and Gold Glove first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. were ever to become a free agent, there's one team that shouldn't bother to come calling.

"I like to play in New York, I like to kill the Yankees," Guerrero said in a Spanish language interview with radio personality Vincent Carmona Arias on his El Dotol Nastra YouTube channel. "I would never sign with the Yankees, not even (when I'm ) dead."

Vladdy has, in fact, been a Yankee killer in his career, batting .289 with an .864 OPS against them, along with 13 home runs—his second most against any opponent—and 41 RBIs, third-most against opposing teams.  He has 10 HR in 31 games at Yankee Stadium.

For now, no need for the Yankees, the Blue Jays or any other team to worry about it. The 23-year-old star isn't eligible for free agency until after the 2025 season, and he recently said he's happy with Toronto and would be open to signing an extension.

“I feel really happy playing here,”  Guerrero Jr. said.  “I hope something can be done about it this offseason.”
