Tigers Claim Pitcher Off Waivers

He missed the entire 2022 season.

The Detroit Tigers have claimed pitcher Sean Guenther off waivers from the Miami Marlins.

Guenther missed the entire 2022 regular season after requiring Tommy John surgery in early April, and now he'll have a chance to try and revitalize his professional career with a new organization. 

The twenty-six-year-old left-handed pitcher made his major league debut with the Marlins in 2021 and pitched to an ugly 9.30 ERA, 2.02 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts over 20.1 innings of work. 

Guenther is a former seventh-round pick by the Marlins in the 2017 MLB Draft.
