Tampa Bay Rays & Pittsburgh Pirates Complete Trade
The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired Ji-Man Choi from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for Jack Hartman.
Choi's name was in the rumor mill, so it is not surprising to see him on the move. He will now be getting a fresh start after a five-year stint as a Ray. In 113 games this season, he had 11 home runs, 52 RBIs, and a .233 bating average. He will be in the running to Pittsburgh's starting first baseman.
Hartman, on the other hand, appeared in 22 Single-A games this season, where he had a 0-1 record and 6.27 ERA. He is going to be a long-term project for the Rays, but we will have to wait and see if he can make the jump to the majors later down the road.
