Seattle Mariners Claim Pitcher Off Waivers

The Seattle Mariners have claimed Gabe Speier off of waivers from the Kansas City Royals. 

Speier performed well with the Royal this season when called up, so perhaps this waiver claim is not all that surprising. In 17 appearances, he may have had a 0-1 record, but he also had a solid 2.33 ERA. He will now be aiming to maintain this kind of pitching as a Mariner from here.

However, for him to make Seattle's roster, he will first need to impress at Spring Training. Shall he perform well during it, he should work well as a part of their bullpen in 2023.
