Reds Sign Pitcher
The Cincinnati Reds have re-signed pitcher Daniel Duarte to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The Reds declined to tender Duarte a contract for the 2023 season last week, but now the team is bringing him back on a new deal.
Duarte made his major league debut this past season, posting a 10.13 ERA over 2.2 innings of work. He only got into four games for the Reds before suffering a season-ending right elbow injury in mid-April.
In 10 appearances in the minors last season, the twenty-five-year-old posted a 9.39 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and seven strikeouts. Duarte is not on the Reds 40-man roster but he'll add some added pitching depth for the organization moving forward.
