Red Sox Outfielder Finished in Boston
The Boston Red Sox have declined their $12 million mutual option with Tommy Pham. As a result, the veteran outfielder will be hitting the market.
Pham was a random deadline acquisition by the Red Sox. They were out of the playoff race entirely, but they still brought him. In 144 games split between the Cincinnati Reds on the year, he had 17 home runs, 63 RBIs, and a .236 batting average. Overall, it wasn't the greatest of years for him, but his experience should lead to him finding another home on a cheap deal.
Teams in need of some outfield depth could consider signing Pham. When at his best, he offers decent pop, so let's see where the 876-game veteran lands from here.
