Positive Injury Update On Angels Starter: Missed The Entire 2022 Season
He missed the entire 2022 season.
The Los Angeles Angels announced that starter Griffin Canning has been cleared to start a throwing program.
Canning missed this entire past season while he rehabbed from a stress fracture in his lower back, but he's now ready to throw for the first time since May. He hasn't pitched in a game since July 2021.

Over his three-year career, Canning holds a 4.73 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 214 strikeouts over 209.1 innings.
Once fully healthy, because the twenty-six-year-old will likely be limited in his return to action, Canning should have a spot in the Angels' rotation.
He is a former second-round pick by the Angels in the 2017 MLB Draft.
