Oakland Athletics Sign Pitcher

The Oakland Athletics have signed Jasseel De La Cruz to a minor league deal. 

De La Cruz spent this past season with the Atlanta Braves organization, playing for their Triple-A, Double-A, and Rk squads. In 20 games split between them, it is clear that the 25-year-old struggled mightily, as he had a 1-3 record to go along with a 7.18 ERA. Now, he will be looking to move past his difficult year and bounce back with the Athletics.

At worst, De La Cruz will be a depth option for the rebuilding A's this season. However, if he does well in the minor leagues, perhaps it could lead to a call-up during the year. Alas, time will tell on that front.
