Oakland Athletics Sign Pitcher

The Oakland Athletics have added to their pitching depth, signing Rico Garcia to a minor league deal.

Garcia appeared in six games this past season with the Baltimore Orioles, where he sported a 0-0 record to go along with a 4.50 ERA. Overall, it's fair to say that he had mixed results when given the chance in the majors last campaign, but now he will be hoping to have more luck with the A's from here.

Ultimately, there's no real risk in a rebuilding team like the A's to take a chance on Garcia. At a minimum, he will provide Oakland with another pitcher with MLB experience.

In 20 career games split between the Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants, and Orioles, Garcia has put together a 1-2 record and 6.38 ERA.
