Oakland Athletics Sign Outfielder
The Oakland Athletics have signed Pablo Reyes to a minor league contract.
Reyes spent this past season with the Milwaukee Brewers. In five appearances with the major league squad on the year, he had four hits in 15 at-bats, which equates to a .267 batting average. Overall, he did not too poorly when called upon in the majors, but that was still not enough for him to maintain his spot on their 40-man roster. As a result, he elected to become a free agent from there.
With the A's, Reyes has a good chance of making their MLB roster. Their weak roster mixed with his ability to play the outfield and third base certainly helps his case. Alas, let's see how the 29-year-old performs for Oakland from here.
