Oakland Athletics Claim Outfielder Off Waivers

The Oakland Athletics have claimed Brent Rooker off of waivers from the Kansas City Royals.

Rooker spent this past season split between the San Diego Padres and Royals, where he had zero home runs, two RBIs, and a .125 batting average. When in the majors, it is clear that he did not make too much of an impact when called upon, but he will now be looking to change that with the A's in 2023.

Rooker showed in 2021 with the Minnesota Twins that he can provide a bit of pop while playing at his best, as he did have nine home runs in 58 games. We will have to wait and see if he can turns back around with Oakland from here.
