New York Mets Keeping 2 Pitchers Around
The New York Mets have picked up Carlos Carrasco's and John Curtiss' options. As a result, the former will make $14 million this season, while the latter will receive $775,000.
After sporting a 1-5 record and 6.04 ERA in 2021, Carrasco bounced back nicely this year. In 29 appearances on the year, he had a 15-7 record to go along with a 3.97 ERA. After a season like that, it makes sense that the Mets are bringing him back. Now, he will aim to put together another campaign like this for them in 2023.
Curtiss, on the other hand, missed all of this season due to receiving Tommy John surgery in 2021. However, he will return to the mound in 2023 and make his debut as a Met in the process. In 76 career games, he has a 6-2 record and 3.63 ERA.
