MLB Rumors: Guardians Ace Not Going Anywhere
Chris Antonetti #Guardians told us that Shane Bieber will NOT be traded and will be a part of their team in 2023 as expected. When asked if he was closer to acquiring Sean Murphy #Athletics or Alejandro Kirk #BlueJays he suggested we ask them...they trying to add Catcher & a Bat.

President of baseball operations Chris Antonetti says that Bieber will NOT be traded, reports Bowden, and will indeed remain a Guardian in 2023. Bieber still has two years of arbitration before he can become a free agent after the 2024 season.
The former Cy Young Winner (2020) had another strong season in 2022, going 13-8 with a 2.88 ERA and 1.04 WHIP. He also had an incredible 198:36 K/BB ratio, and even added a Gold Glove to his resume. Bieber is a two-time All-Star.
In recent years, Cleveland has traded the likes of Trevor Bauer, Mike Clevinger and Corey Kluber just two years removed from a Cy Young award, off their starting staffs. With the Guardians, however, showing potential to be a true contender again in 2023, that will not happen this time around, at least for now, with Bieber.
