MLB Rumors: Free-Agent Pitcher Garnering Plenty of Interest

According to Will Sammon of The Athletic, more than a dozen teams are expressing interest in Seth Lugo. Sammon also noted that some of the teams pursuing Lugo are interested in making him a starter.

Lugo has started in 38 games over his 275-game career, and seven of them came during the 2020 season. Therefore, he does have experience in this role, so it makes sense that some teams are willing to try him out in the rotation again. However, over these last two seasons with the New York Mets, he has solely been utilized in their bullpen and has been excellent in the role.

Regardless, it will be intriguing to see who ends up signing Lugo from here. It's clear that the interest in his services is rather high.

In 62 games last season with the Mets, Lugo had a 3-2 record and a 3.60 ERA.
