MLB Rumors: Chicago Cubs Linked to 2 Outfielders
According to Gordon Wittenmyer, the Chicago Cubs have Cody Bellinger and Kevin Kiermaier on their radar.
Bellinger is a non-tender candidate and could become a free agent if the Los Angeles Dodgers decide to part ways with him. It was another disastrous season for the former MVP, as he had 19 home runs, a .210 batting average, and only a .265 OBP on the season. This could be what leads the Dodgers to part ways with him, but if they do bring him back, expect the Cubs to try to acquire him via trade.
Kiermeier, on the other hand, was let go by the Tampa Bay Rays and is currently a free agent. A 10-year veteran, Kiermeier was limited to just 63 games this season due to injury, where he had seven home runs, 22 RBIs, and a .228 batting average. It was a down year for him, but his excellent fielding ability and leadership could be enough for him to land a deal with the Cubs.
