Los Angeles Angels Catcher Elects Free Agency
Chad Wallach has rejected an outright assignment by the Los Angeles Angels and has instead elected to become a free agent.
This is not the most surprising of developments, as Wallach has six years of MLB experience and had the option to hit the open market. Now, instead of fighting for a spot on the Angels' 40-man roster, he will be testing his luck via free agency. Teams in need of some catching depth will likely have him on their radar.
Wallach has made appearances at the major league level in each of the last six seasons. In 90 career games, he has four home runs, 24 RBIs, and a .198 batting average.
