Injury Update On White Sox's Top Prospect
He was on an absolute tear in the Chicago White Sox's minor league system before suffering the injury.
White Sox assistant general manager Chris Getz said that prospect Jose Rodriguez is on track to be ready for spring training, according to James Fegan of The Athletic.
''There certainly wasn't a hotter hitter in our system than Jose Rodriguez right before breaking his hamate bone. He's doing normal baseball activities right now, and he'll do that for a little bit longer,'' Getz said. He also said that Rodriguez will definitely be ready for spring training and ready to pick up right where he left off.
Before his season ended early, Rodriguez was slashing .280/.340/.430, with 11 home runs, 68 RBIs, 40 stolen bases and 75 runs scored over 104 games played at Double-A Birmingham. He'll likely get a chance to compete for a spot on the team's Opening Day roster.
The twenty-one-year-old is the seventh-ranked prospect in the White Sox's organization.
