Houston Astros Sign Pitcher
The Houston Astros have signed Austin Davis to a minor league contract.
Davis appeared in 52 games this past season between the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins, where he had a 2-1 record to go along with a fairly high 5.79 ERA. Overall, it's fair to say that he had his struggles in 2022, and they are likely why he had to settle for this minor league deal. However, he will now heading into Spring Training with the expectation of impressing, as it could be exactly what gets him selected to their Opening Day roster.
Overall, there's no harm in the Astros signing Davis. He should serve as a decent option at a minimum, but look for him to push for a spot on their MLB roster.
