Houston Astros Sign Infielder
The Houston Astros have signed Dixon Machado to a minor league contract. With that, he has been invited to their big league Spring Training.
Machado played in the majors for the first time since 2018 this past season with the San Francisco Giants. In five games total, he had three hits in 15 at-bats. Although he did not dominate while playing in the sport's most competitive league, it certainly is an accomplishment that he made it back to the bigs for the first time in four seasons.
Now, Machado will be hoping to impress at Spring Training. If he does, the Astros could very well select his contract.
In 177 career MLB games, Machado has two home runs, 37 RBIs, and a .226 batting average.
