Houston Astros Re-Sign Pitcher

The Houston Astros have re-signed Rafael Montero to a three-year, $34.5 million contract.

After sporting a 6.39 ERA in 44 games in 2021, Montero bounced back beautifully this season with Houston. In 71 appearances, he had a 5-2 record to go along with a 2.37 ERA. He was easily one of the Astros' most reliable relievers and as a result of this, he has now earned himself this marvelous payday in the process.

With Montero hitting the open market, there was a chance that he would end up somewhere else. Yet, the Astros have now brought him back, and he will be aiming to put together a strong season in 2023 from here.
