Alexander signed a minor-league deal with the Giants this past May and impressed during his time with the big-league club, posting a sharp 1.04 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 10 strikeouts over 17.1 innings of work. He started four games, made 13 relief appearances and converted two saves.
The thirty-three-year-old spent the first three seasons of his career with the Kansas City Royals and the next four with the Los Angeles Dodgers, posting a 3.16 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 160 strikeouts over 205 innings of work.
Alexander should have a big role in the Giants' bullpen this coming season.
