Detroit Tigers Infielder Clears Waivers
Detroit Tigers infielder Josh Lester has cleared waivers and has since been outrighted to Triple-A.
Lester appeared in his first two major league games this season with the Tigers, where he went 0-for-5 at the plate with three strikeouts. Overall, it was a rather uneventful start to his career, and he has lost his spot on the 40-man roster because of it.
Due to the fact that Lester has less than three seasons of MLB experience, he does not have the option to reject this outright assignment by Detroit and become a free agent. As a result, he will remain with the organization and aim to impress them from here. Should he perform well at Spring Training, it might be enough for him to get another look in the majors.
