Detroit Tigers Claim Outfielder Off Waivers
The Detroit Tigers have claimed Bligh Madis off of waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays.
Madris played in his first 39 MLB games this season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he had one home run, seven RBIs, and a .177 batting average. The Rays would later grab him off waivers, but he, unfortunately, did not appear in a game for them. Now, he is heading to Detroit where he will be aiming to become a major league regular
Overall, there's no harm for a rebuilding team like the Tigers to take a chance on Madris. At worst, he will provide them with more, as he can play both right field and first base. Alas, let's see how his tenure goes with the Tigers from here.
