Colorado Rockies Decline Pitcher's Option
The Colorado Rockies have declined their $8 million club option with Scott Oberg. As a result, the righty will be hitting the free-agent market.
Yet, Oberg returning to the mound is hard to determine. He has not pitched in an MLB game since 2019 due to chronic blood clots and has worked with the Rockies scouting department while injured. Due to all of this, it is unlikely that he will be signing a contract at this juncture.
In 259 career games, all with the Rockies, Oberg has an 18-8 record to go along with a 3.85 ERA. It will be intriguing to see if Colorado decides to keep him around as a scout from here.
