Chicago Cubs Claim Infielder Off Waivers
The Chicago Cubs have claimed Rylan Bannon off of waivers from the Atlanta Braves.
Bannon played in his first five MLB games this season split between the Baltimore Orioles and Braves. During them, he went 2-for-14 at the plate, which equates to a .143 batting average. It is fair to say that he struggled when called upon in the majors this campaign, but he will be aiming to change that next season as a Cub.
Bannon should be a decent depth option for the Cubs from here. His ability to play both third base and second base could be enough for him to earn a call-up, but we will have to wait and see what happens on that front from here.
