Boston Red Sox Move On from 2 Players
The Boston Red Sox have parted ways with Franchy Cordero and Yu Chang, as both players were non-tendered. As a result, they both are now free agents.
Cordero appeared in 84 games this past season for the Red Sox, where he had eight home runs, 29 RBIs, and a .219 batting average. As one of the main pieces brought back from the Kansas City Royals in the Andrew Benintendi trade, it's fair to say that Cordero did not live up to expectations in Boston.
Chang, on the other hand, was on the move quite often this season, as he played for the Cleveland Guardians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays, and Red Sox. In 51 games between them, he had three home runs, 13 RBIs, and a .208 batting average.
