Athletics Sign Third Baseman
A good signing by the third baseman.
The Oakland Athletics have signed third baseman Pablo Reyes to a minor league contract.
It's a smart signing spot by Reyes, as he figures to be in the mix for a spot on the Athletics' Opening Day roster.
This past season, Reyes got into just five major league games with the Milwaukee Brewers, going 4-for-15 at the dish, with one walk and one run scored. In the minors, however, he slashed a solid .273/.348/.439, with 11 home runs and 15 stolen bases over 99 games with Triple-A Nashville.
For his career, the twenty-nine-year-old holds a .238/.307/.361 slash line, with six home runs, 29 RBIs, five stolen bases and 40 runs scored across 147 games, split between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers.
