The New York Yankees have recalled Greg Weissert as the 27th player for Tuesday's doubleheader against the Texas Rangers.
Weissert threw a scoreless inning against the Rangers in the first game of the doubleheader on Tuesday, allowing no hits and striking out one.

In the majors this year, Weissert has posted an underwhelming 5.56 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts over 11.1 innings of work. In 12 relief appearances, he holds a 3-0 record.
The twenty-seven-year-old has been phenomenal in the minors on the other hand, registering a stellar 1.69 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts across 48 innings. In 42 relief appearances, he's converted 18 saves and has a 2-1 record.
Perhaps, Weissert can secure himself a spot on the Yankees' postseason roster.
