Update On Justin Turner And His 2023 Option With The Dodgers
He's coming off yet another solid season.
On Monday, Justin Turner was announced as the 2022 Roberto Clemente Award winner for his extraordinary character and community involvement along with philanthropy and positive contributions on and off the field.
That's great news for the thirty-seven-year-old.

However, Turner also told The Athletic that he hasn't been informed whether the Los Angeles Dodgers will pick up his $16 million club option for the 2023 season. Not great news.
Turner would figure to return to Los Angeles after posting a .278/.350/.438 slash line, with 13 home runs, 81 RBIs and 61 runs scored across 128 games in his ninth season with the Dodgers.
The only thing that would perhaps make the Dodgers think twice about his 2023 option is Miguel Vargas, their third-ranked prospect.
Vargas has looked awfully impressive in the minor leagues, slashing a phenomenal .304/.404/.511 line, with 17 home runs, 82 RBIs, 16 stolen bases and 100 runs scored over 113 games at the Triple-A level this past season. He also plays third base.
The Dodgers have five days after the conclusion of the World Series to make a final decision on the matter.
