Tigers Rumors: 3 Players Not Expected Back Next Season

After an offseason of spending, the Detroit Tigers heavily disappointed in 2022; finishing with a 66-96 record. After a year like this, it's clear that the Tigers will be making changes, and we should see a number of their players leave because of it. Here are three specific players who stand out.

Tucker Barnhart: Tucker Barnhart is set to hit the open market after one season with the Tigers. The veteran catcher was traded by the Cincinnati Reds to Detroit last offseason and overall, it was a fairly quiet season for him. In 94 games, he had one home run, 16 RBIs, and a .221 batting average. Although he did not take the world by storm at the plate, his solid defense will lead to offers.

Daniel Norris: Daniel Norris returned to the Tigers in the middle of the 2022 season after being let go by the Chicago Cubs. With Detroit, he turned things around nicely from what was a bad start to the year, as he had a 3.45 ERA in 14 appearances. As a result of this, there should be some interest in the 208-game veteran on the open market.

Drew Hutchison: Drew Hutchison was DFA'd numerous times throughout the season and will be looking for a more stable opportunity elsewhere. In 28 games this season with the club, he had a 3-9 record to go along with a 4.53 ERA.
