He was designated for assignment by the Minnesota Twins.
Now, the Detroit Tigers have claimed infielder Jermaine Palacios off of waivers from the Twins.

Palacios saw some time with the Twins down the stretch this season, slashing a poor .143/.184/.229, with two home runs, six RBIs and eight runs scored over 70 at-bats. It was his first taste of major league action.
In the minors this season, the twenty-six-year-old has slashed .283/.341/.803, with 14 home runs, 60 RBIs, 12 stolen bases and 70 runs scored across 392 at-bats.
The move is really nothing more than a depth move for the Tigers.
