MLB Rumors: Chicago Cubs Linked to First Baseman

According to Bruce Levine, Jose Abreu is a player who the Chicago Cubs are likely to pursue via free agency this offseason.

The Cubs have made it known that they plan to be big spenders this offseason as they aim to move past their rebuild. Bringing in a player like Abreu would certainly be a player who could help them, as he continues to put up excellent seasons. In 157 games this past season with the Chicago White Sox, he had 15 home runs, 75 RBIs, and a .304 batting average.

It will be intriguing to if the Cubs end up winning the Abreu sweepstakes this offseason. There will be plenty of interest in the three-time All-Star, naturally.
