The lockout impacted Correa's first chance to be a UFA, but he has now decided to test the open market again. Correa noted that opting out "is the right decision" for him after the year he just had. It certainly was a very good one for him, as he had 22 home runs, 64 RBIS, and a .291 batting average.
With Correa confirming that he will be a free agent again, teams around the league will certainly make a push to sign him. He is once again one of the best shortstops available, so let's see who ends up winning the sweepstakes this offseason.
