Scherzer has put together yet another outstanding season, posting a stellar 2.29 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a fantastic 173 strikeouts over 145 innings. He's made 23 starts and holds an 11-5 record.
The thirty-eight-year-old has faced the Padres once this season, back on July 22. In that start, Scherzer threw six innings, allowed two runs, five hits, one walk and struck out eight in a very solid showing. However, the Mets lost the game 4-1.
Scherzer will look to get his revenge tomorrow night in New York.
