• Mychal Givens has been activated off the COVID IL.
• Tylor Megill has been placed on the IL (no injury designation).
Givens has been away from the team for the past few weeks. He has really struggled since being traded to the Mets this season, posting a 4.79 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts over 20.2 innings of work. In 19 appearances, he's made one start and holds a 1-1 record.
While on the Chicago Cubs this season, the thirty-two-year-old registered a very strong 2.66 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, with 51 strikeouts across 40.2 innings. He made 40 relief appearances, converted two saves, and held a 6-2 record.
The Mets acquired Mychal Givens from the Cubs at the trade deadline in exchange for minor league pitcher Saul Gonzalez.
