He's best known for his National Anthem standoff against Seattle Mariners starter Robbie Ray this year.
Now, the Mariners have claimed pitcher Luke Weaver off of waivers from the Kansas City Royals.

The Mariners add Weaver after he was designated for assignment by the Royals last week.
Weaver was traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Royals near the August 2 trade deadline. He posted an ugly 6.56 ERA, 1.82 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts over 35.2 innings of work this season split between the D-Backs and Royals.
The twenty-nine-year-old will provide organizational pitching depth for the Mariners in the 2023 season, that is, if he stays on the team's 40-man roster.
