Los Angeles Angels Re-Sign 3 Players
The Los Angeles Angels have re-signed Ryan Aguilar, Aaron Whitefield, and Kolton Ingram each to minor league contracts.
Aguilar played in his seven MLB games this season with the Angels, but it's fair to say that he struggled in the sport's most competitive league. In 22 at-bats, he had just three hits to go along with 14 strikeouts. He will now be aiming to impress in Spring Training next season to earn a spot on their 40-man roster.
Whitefield played five games for the Angels and like Aguilar, he struggled at the plate when called upon. In 11 at-bats, he failed to record a hit and struck out five times. The 6-foot-4 outfielder will be hoping for the chance to get another call-up next season to redeem himself from a rough start with the Angels.
Ingram spent the entirety of the 2022 season down in Double-A. In 23 games with Rocket City, he had a 6-2 record to go along with a 2.67 ERA. Overall, it was a strong year for him, and it should result in him getting some looks in Triple-A next season.
