Giants Veteran Infielder Done For Season
His season will end a few days earlier than expected.
The San Francisco Giants have placed infielder Evan Longoria on the 10-day injured list with a fractured right thumb.
Evan Longoria knew his thumb was broken right away. He’s still mulling over next year, would come back if Giants pick up option or even renegotiate it.

Longoria suffered the injury on Sunday when he was struck by a batted ball in the field. Not only is Longoria's season over, but his time with the Giants may be as well.
Longoria has a $13-million club option with the Giants for 2023, but that will almost definitely be declined. The thirty-six-year-old did say that he'd be open to negotiating a lower salary for 2023 if the Giants want to bring him back.
Longoria slashed .244/.315/.451, with 14 home runs, 42 RBIs and 31 runs scored over 89 games played this season.
