Diamondbacks Rumors: 2 Players Not Expected Back Next Season
The Arizona Diamondbacks are set to make changes after another underwhelming season. When it comes to their roster, do not expect to see these two pitchers back in 2023.
Ian Kennedy: The Diamondbacks are likely to let Ian Kennedy walk after what was a very rough season for the veteran. In 57 games, he had a 4-7 record to go along with a very high 5.36 ERA. At this juncture, it would make sense for them to seek bullpen help elsewhere. However, given Kennedy's 16 years of MLB experience, there should be another team willing to take a shot on him.
Zach Davies: Zach Davies ended this season with a 2-5 record to go along with a 4.09 ERA. Although he was not perfect, he did improve his ERA from last season (5.78), so he may want to test his luck on the open market. He has the tools to be a decent bottom-of-the-rotation starter, so expect to see him sign elsewhere from here.
