Detroit Tigers Pitcher Likely to Pitch in 2023

While speaking with the media, Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal noted that he's building his arm strength and said that he's likely to pitch at some point during the 2023 season.

Skubal's season ended in August after he elected to have surgery on his forearm to repair a flexor tendon. The severity of this surgery will sideline him for quite some time, but given his words of encouragement, it seems that we will see Skubal get back on the mound next year. That is a positive in this situation.

For a bad Tigers team in 2022, Skubal was a rare bright spot. In 21 starts, he had a 7-8 record to go along with a 3.52 ERA. As his solid ERA shows, his losing record was due to the fact that he had a weak team playing in front of him. Here's to hoping he continues to progress well and maintains this kind of pitching once he gets back to the hill.
