The Yankees' final series is from October 3-5 against the Texas Rangers. Manager Aaron Boone did say though, ''we're still a ways away from even having an idea if that's going to be possible or not.''

Carpenter went for X-rays on his fractured foot last week, which showed continued healing, however, Carpenter is still in a walking boot and has yet to resume baseball activities. He'll definitely have to speed the recovery process up if he wants to have a chance to play in the Yankees' last series of the regular season next week.

The thirty-six-year-old has slashed a phenomenal .305/.412/1.139, with 15 home runs, 37 RBIs, and 28 runs scored over just 128 at-bats this season. It's been an amazing comeback season for Matt Carpenter, and it would make it even more special if he can come back and contribute for the Yankees in the postseason.
