Washington Nationals Sign Outfielder
The Washington Nationals are adding to their depth, as they have signed DJ Peters to a minor league deal.
The Nationals are completely out of the playoff race, so this isn't a move to help them for the fall. Peters spent this season with the Lotte Giants of the KBO, where he had 13 home runs and a .228 batting average. He would be released in July, but he has now found a new home in the Nationals' system.
Peters will now be aiming to earn himself a call-up before the season is over, but there's no guarantee that it will come to fruition. In 70 career MLB games, he has 13 home runs, 38 RBIs, and a .197 batting average.
