Washington Nationals Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Washington Nationals have designated Jake McGee for assignment.

This is the third time this season where McGee has been designated for assignment, as he suffered this same fate with both the San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Brewers. Unfortunately, the 2022 season has been a rough one for the veteran, and this trend is only continuing with this recent development.

In 42 games split between the three teams this campaign, McGee has a 1-3 record to go along with a 6.81 ERA. Overall, he has struggled a lot, but perhaps another team will be open to the idea of claiming him off waivers because of his 650 games of MLB experience. We will have to wait and see what happens on that front.
