Washington Nationals Call Up Catcher

The Washington Nationals have called up Israel Pineda to their major league roster.

This is certainly exciting news for Pineda, as he is set to make his MLB debut due to this call-up. The 22-year-old has spent time in Single-A+, Double-A, and Triple-A this season alone, but now he is making the jump to the bigs. You love to see it. 

In 99 games split between the three leagues this campaign, Pineda has been solid, as he has 16 home runs, 71 RBIs, and a .258 batting average. He will be aiming to translate this kind of production to the majors from here, so we will need to see how he performs.
