Video: Albert Pujols Hits Home Run No. 696; Ties Alex Rodriguez!
During Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Albert Pujols hit the 696th home run of his Hall-of-Fame career. He is now just four dingers away from becoming the fourth player in MLB history to hit 700.
This home run is a very special one, however, as he is now tied fourth all-time in home runs with Alex Rodriguez. Baseball fans around the world will be rooting for Albert to pass A-Rod, as the former played the game clean. The same can't be said about the latter.
With how much Pujols is heating up, it seems possible that he could hit the 700-home run plateau before the year is over. The Cardinals have 22 games left to play at the time of this writing, so that does leave Pujols with a good amount of time. Let's see if he can do it from here.
